Course Description
This is an instrumental performance program open to all instrumental students. Candidates for this course should be able to play with reasonable competence on one of the following instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, rhythm/lead guitar, bass guitar, piano, or drums. In this course, a foundation in the basic elements and structural features of various styles and periods of jazz (swing, funk, and rock) will be developed, including improvisation. Performances for the Jazz Ensemble will be determined on an annual basis. |
