Course Description
This is a hands-on, studio course where students will develop their drawing skills through the introduction to different drawing styles and techniques, while also exploring a variety of materials such as graded value pencils, marker, pen & ink, charcoal, pastels, etc. Students will learn good composition, while drawing from direct observation of objects as well as their imagination. Subjects that will be explored include seeing and drawing negative space, creativity, contour and line quality, drawing from life with both line and value, pen and ink texture studies that are then applied to animal portraits, as well as face proportions and feature development for portrait drawing. |
