Course Description
This course will be an overview of the visual arts, beginning
with Pre-historic times emphasizing artistic contributions from
Asian, Greek, Egyptian, Native American and African cultures.
We will explore the materials and techniques
used, concentrating on painting and sculpture. Students will
become aware of the influence visual arts have on the
development of modern art, Pop-culture and communication of
the 21st century. Through hands-on and project-oriented art
making, students will become more aware of the influence
aesthetics has on modern culture. This is a studio class with
some lecture, research and presentations. |
